Brian Ward

Owner

Brian grew up in Greensboro, NC and graduated from Page High School in 1991. He spent over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring in 2013 with the rank of First Sergeant. 

While performing his duties in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Brian worked as an automotive technician and began investing in real estate. He obtained his general contractor’s license and completed all the renovations and maintenance on his growing investment property business. Brian started Ward Construction & Remodeling of NC in 2018 and his primary focus is on new client and business development. He has invested himself in understanding the customer’s needs and has years’ of experience taking their vision from concept to completion.

Brian and Stephanie have a combined family with four children. He’s helped coach all his kids in baseball, softball, basketball and soccer. When not working or on a ball field, you’ll most likely find him and the family on the water, swimming, boating and fishing.

Jason Marks

Operations Manager

Jason grew up in New Jersey. He went to Concordia College in Bronxville, New York and graduated with a degree in Arts and Business in 2002.  After college, Jason spent 10 years as a landscape construction contractor for a landscape design company in Westfield, NJ. During this time he also started a part time home services company. He moved south to Kernersville, NC in 2015 and worked for several remodeling contractors before joining Brian and Ward Construction in 2018. Jason is a highly skilled craftsman and he enjoys creating custom designs/pieces to take the project to the next level.

Jason and his wife Faith have two children, Violet and Ben. Jason enjoys woodworking, rebuilding classic cars, playing guitar and guitar repair.

Van Bateman

Operations Manager

Van is lifelong resident of Davidson County and graduated from North Davidson High School. He spent over 30 years running his own business in medical equipment moving and installation. His background in operating a successful business gives him a unique perspective in managing projects and personnel. Van joined Ward Construction in late 2018 and oversees both residential and commercial projects. His experience ranges from kitchen renovations to converting a century old cotton mill into a 48 unit apartment building.

Van and his wife Aimee have two children, Eli and Anabelle. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting and fishing.

Stuart Hofman

Commercial Estimator

Stuart was born in Catawba County but spent most of his school age years in Kansas. After graduating from Kansas State University, he moved back to NC.

He worked for Sherwin Williams for 15 years before coming to work with Ward Construction.

Stuart and his wife Lauren have two children, Madison and Graham. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and volunteering at church.

Nick McKillop

Project Superintendent

Nick is a native of Kernersville and worked with his father on construction and carpentry projects growing up. After high school he spent seven years serving his country in the United States Air Force. Nick joined Ward Construction in July, 2020 and has managed a variety of projects, including bathroom remodels, crawlspace encapsulation and structural repairs.

Nick and his wife Courtney have a son and daughter. He enjoys building/carpentry and spending time with family and friends.

Blake Ellis

Blake grew up in Alabama and spent four years in the United States Navy after graduating high school. Blake joined Ward Construction in April, 2021 after a career in the furniture industry. He is an excellent craftsman and enjoys working closely with all parties involved on a project.

Blake and his wife have three children, Hayley, Cameron and Josiah. He enjoys spending his leisure time woodworking and outdoors.
